Mud fiiiiight

When it rains in Kansas, it pours, and after it pours and the sun comes out, there is nothin but mud and huge puddles everywhere. Josh and I decided to make something out of it instead of sittin inside and doing absolutely nothing we headed to the park and started a mud fight with some friends. best idea yet.

before.. we were so clean!

and After

why pay big bucks to get a mud bath at a spa when you can have
one at the park... with everyone!

Adam lost his wedding ring, kinda freaked us out and
sent us on a mad search...

found it! well some random lady in the park found it, pretty
amazing how nice the people are here. They will do anything
to lend a hand, even if it means getting mud everywhere.

In the fifteen minutes that it rained these HUGE puddles were
made.

We made a slip n slide :)

God Bless America!

Its been one amazing weekend for us, not only did we celebrate the 4th but also (because of Josh's obsession with fire) we celebrated the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th with multiple rounds of fireworks, and this time Josh made sure to take advantage of the fact that Kansas sells the biggest and LOUDEST fireworks ever for dirt cheap. Were talkin Disneyland size... well almost. On the 3rd a group of us went to Jose Peppers for dinner, if you haven't been there yet and you live in the good ole state of Kansas.. GO! It's delicious, After we drove to Kansas city because fireworks are legal there and decided to have our own lil show. The boys thought it would be funny to light off stuff in trash cans and porta potties... not a good idea if you wanna be safe.. but hilarious. One of the guys accidentally knocked over the big kind that launches up in the air and it shot out straight at us! I ran for my life. Fortunately no one got hurt. We were all dying laughing. FUN night. On the 4th we had a big BBQ after church with everyone from elite and then some of us went to the visitors center in Independence, and had a lil spiritual moment, after we blew up more fireworks and about ten minutes before the big show was supposed to start it poured, cats and dogs :/ We went home and ran in the rain. another FUN night. We enjoyed every bit of this holiday and cant wait for next year. We are so happy to be living in this great nation and to enjoy the freedoms that come with being an American.

God bless the USA!

this is only a fraction of the amount we had for the 3rd
we got double this for the fourth and combined everyone
else's.

Fun in the SUN

Its been a while since I have updated and that's solely because I have been in the gorgeous state of CALIFORNIA for the past couple weeks. Every time I go back to visit orange county I wish a little more that Josh and I could live there, from my opinion its perfection there... from the beautiful palm trees, beaches, and amazing weather to the amazing family and friends I love and had missed so dearly. I definitely wasn't in Kansas anymore!! I had a fabulous time with my family going to weddings, Laguna Beach, movies, pedicures, shopping, YOGURT! (my new love), reading my favorite new books on the beach, just hangin with my lil bro who is truly my hero, (seriously Colby I wish I could be as cool as you), playing cars and trains about a million times with my adorable nephews, who by the way loooved my fifty cent bouncy ball gifts. It was so hard leaving them I felt like I lost my own baby when I had to leave my lil man Baron at church on Sunday for the airport, but I am so glad I got the chance to plant my new name "aunt Bertney" in his lil chinese language. I also had the chance to meet up with some of my favorite girls and have one amazzzing girls night!! We went to CPK my favorite restaurant on earth, and rented Dear John. SO fun. I also had a very fun girls night with Taina, we swapped hair cuts and color, and pedicures and rented the Young Victoria. Its soo fun to have a best friend that has the same career I do! After a week and a half of playin at the beach and enjoying dancing and taking a million pics at the weddings with loved ones, I was exhausted and ready to come home to my hubbie. I had never been away that long from Josh and it was definitely a challenge for me. I will never forget the feeling I had when I turned the corner of the airport and saw my husband patiently waiting for me. It was the same feeling I got the night I saw him for the first time, I cant even remember what we said or did, all I remember is how in love I fell all over again that night and how happy I was to be back in Kansas.

Enjoy the pics!! cant wait to go back in the fall and this time with JOSH! :)

Girls day

Yesterday a few of us decided to go to the movies and have a lil girls day out. We planned on going to the cute new movie Letters to Juliet and had bought our tickets and everything till we got in the theater (which was a room of literally 20 seats) And the only seats left were of course the VERY front row! we were pretty bummed, so much that we even tried to watch the first preview to make it work... definitely didnt, Soo we decided to go see Killers. If you havent seen this movie go see it! its adorable. I have now seen it twice and its a fav. We had a great time, and laughed A LOT. I am havin a blast getting to know all the fun, sweet wives this year, love them!

Race day!

We did it!! Emily Julie and I decided to run the kansas city hospital hill run today. I ran the 5K and Em and Julie ran the 10K. It was SOO fun, we were havin a blast, it was a killer race on your legs though with lots and lots of hills but we made it to the finish line and Emily and I both met our goal time. Julie was awesome enough to be our lil picture taker and ended up kickin some butt in the race! it was pretty hilarious to see her cross the finish line with bags, cameras and all at good timing when she wasnt even planning on running it at all. love her. Im so glad emily talked me into runnin the race... way worth it. It was a beautiful cool morning so we decided to stick around and take some fun pics. New goal: run a 10K in the next month. I am lovin every bit of this this summer in kck!

Before the race... I got maybe four hours of sleep not sure why I
was so nervous.
