We were so thrilled to announce we are expecting our first sweet little one this week. I can't explain in words how excited and overly happy we are right now. We had been trying and praying for this sweet little miracle to come into our lives for almost a year. It was such a shock the day we found out, and hands down it was the best day of our lives.
It all started with the day of my surgery. Many of you know I have a case of endometriosis. I have struggled with it for a long time and it caused a little bump in the road for our little one to get here. After 8 months of trying and praying our hearts out, we decided it was time to get the surgery to remove my endo.
The day of my surgery was intense. If you know me well you know I am terrified of the thought of surgery and being put under. I bawled the night before, pleading with heavenly father to keep me safe and bring a little one into our home soon after the surgery. Josh comforted me by reading my patriarchal blessing and reassuring me of the blessings I would receive later on in life as a mother. That was the only thing that got me to bed that night.
The next morning I climbed into that dreaded hospital bed and gown. Threw on my pretend "I can do this" face, and said a prayer to calm my nerves. The nurses prepped me and took some tests, while the anesthesiologist signed me off with ten minutes to be put under. The next thing I remember was the nurses rushing into the room and asking my main nurse to come attend to some urgent news.
My doctor performing the surgery rushed in my room to tell me the news.
Her exact words were "well I'm sorry to say we have to cancel your surgery today." I was so upset I wanted to cry until she followed with "because your PREGNANT!!"
Tears swelled in my eyes and instantly I felt the most amazing feeling of love from my heavenly father and my sweet husband who was hugging me over and over. We could not wipe the smiles off our faces. Every nurse came in to celebrate with us and give me a hug. My main nurse came in, gave me a big hug and looked at Josh and I to tell us she couldnt wait to go home and tell her little family about "our story."
I beamed all day long, and every day since.
I know my heavenly father loves me. Although it was a hard year, I am so grateful that this precious little one came at the time he or she did.
Im going to be a Mommy!!!!
I dont think life could get any better than this.
